Guildwood Neighbourhood Character Guidelines Officially Adopted!

Great news for Guildwood! After months of community engagement and advocacy, Toronto City Council has officially adopted the Guildwood Village Neighbourhood Character Guidelines. This important milestone will help ensure that future development respects the unique character, mature streetscapes, and architectural identity that make Guildwood one of Toronto's most distinctive neighbourhoods.

The next step is putting these guidelines into action by making them widely available to homeowners, developers, architects, real estate professionals, and anyone considering building or investing in our community.

A tremendous thank you goes to the GVCA Housing Committee, especially Andy Manahan and Don Briggs, along with everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and voices throughout this process. Special thanks as well to Jeff Garrah and Don Briggs for presenting on behalf of the community before Scarborough Community Council.

Watch for the upcoming print edition of News & Views, where we'll share the full story, highlight what makes Guildwood unique, explain how these guidelines will be used, and discuss what they mean for the future of our community.
